The long days of summer are upon us and opportunities for adventures in Grand Teton are endless. We hope that everyone is enjoying this spectacular time of year and taking advantage of all that the valley has to offer! We are excited to update you on the projects and events we are working on here at the Foundation during summer months.

Inspiring Journeys: A Campaign for Jenny Lake - We are making progress! It's proving to be an exciting summer as construction is in full swing in the backcountry near the mouth of Cascade Canyon. While enjoying Jenny Lake this summer, you can expect to see detours and reroutes along the trails.

The Grand Rescue is a story about a harrowing three-day rescue on the north face of the Grand Teton in1967. There are still tickets available for the film premier on July 9th!

National Trails Day Success
Our National Trails Day event in Grand Teton was a huge success thanks to a group of ambitious volunteers and park rangers. The team worked for five hours on the Valley Trail near Bradley and Taggart lakes. Thanks to our volunteers and rangers for their hard work and effort last month!

On Saturday, August 2nd, Grand Teton National Park Foundation will be the local non-profit beneficiary of the Jackson Hole Farmer's Market. GTNPF will receive 10% of all sales from each vendor. Mark your calendars!

Grand Teton Trivia
Which Teton peak is named for the Shoshone Indian word meaning "pinnacles"?

Teewinot Mountain, for the Shoshone word Tee-Win-At. Apparently the Shoshone applied the term to the entire Teton Range and not just to one peak.
Youth Program Highlights
The 2014 Youth Conservation Program crew started their adventurous and challenging work in Grand Teton in the beginning of June. Follow our blog for weekly Trail Talk updates to see the incredible accomplishments of the team as they continue their work through the summer.
