Dancing Classrooms: Donations at Work

| | Dancing thanks to SMMEF donors! |
SMMEF is proud to fund the Dancing Classrooms ballroom program for every 5th grade student in our district. This program goes far beyond teaching dance steps; it also develops students' emotional, physical and social skills. Sarah Daunis, a SMASH 5th Grade teacher, says, "I've seen students develop self-confidence, empathy, strengthen their executive functioning skills, and have a lot of fun. It's been an amazing, transformative experience."
The program culminates in a district-wide ballroom dance competition on April 21 at 9:30 am at Santa Monica High School's Barnum Hall. We hope to see you there!
