STUDENT EXPERIMENT AND ART HEADING TO SPACE!

Thanks to partial funding from SMMEF, students at Lincoln Middle School have spent this year researching and designing experiments for the interdisciplinary Student Spaceflight Experiments Program. Now, a team from Lincoln has been selected to have their experiment conducted in space! Samuel Buckley-Bonanno, Adam Chamas, Charlie Gooding and Shrayes Raman designed a paper chromatography experiment that will be launched to the International Space Station in late June. Lincoln also conducted a district-wide design contest for two patches to accompany the project. Chosen by a panel of teachers, Grant Elementary School student Tatum Meyer, as well as Alisa Boardman from Lincoln, will have their designs sent to space along with the experiment!

WHY WE GIVE

"We are committed to ensuring that our children receive the best education they can, so they can be successful in whatever they choose to do. As our oldest nears middle school, we want to make sure that all of her potential classmates have benefited from the same opportunities and enrichment experiences. SMMEF equally benefits the children in the district, meaning that all students in our daughter's class will have experienced enriched school programs. They will be ready to learn together and challenge each other through middle school."
