The Santa Monica 5000is back! For the third year, this 3k/5k/10k race benefits the Education Foundation and our schools' athletic programs. Sign up today to be part of this incredible community event on October 6th and support athletics! Discounted Registration through September 16th!  Here's how it works:
1. Go to www.santamonica5000.com to register for the race. $5 of every registration goes to your favorite sports team, school P.E. department or the Education Foundation (you'll see where to designate your funds on the registration page). Fees are $25 for youth and $40 for adults.

Santa Monica Bike It! Walk It! Week

Let's keep active for a whole week!  On the same day as the SM5000, from 9am to noon, the City of Santa Monica will sponsor a free Beach Bike Rodeo at the Beach Bike Campus located at Ocean Park Boulevard and Barnard Way. Bring your bicycle and helmet so you are ready to learn new skills for Bike It! Walk It! week, held Monday, October 7 to Friday, October 11.*
Each elementary and middle school in Santa Monica is participating in its own unique way: check your school site for details. Get out your walking shoes, bikes, skateboards and scooters, and go car free the entire week!
*Note: Samohi's BIWI Day is on October 2; Malibu schools' BIWI Day is on October 11.
