Rebuilding homes while focusing on the gospel
Work in Columbia, South Carolina began on January 9th, 2017. Each week, a team of 40-50 volunteers from across the country arrives eager to serve in this rebuilding ministry.

Under HarvestCall, there has been a more focused effort in sharing the gospel as part of the team experience. Morning devotions are designed to challenge and encourage each participant to KNOW the Gospel, LOVE the Gospel and SHARE the Gospel. Sharing the gospel begins first with ourselves, then with our families, next with our church family and then with the unbeliever - whomever we meet. We are trusting God to bless this effort.

After two months of work, much has been accomplished

Four new homes are currently under construction. Three of these resulted from foundation damage to the existing homes which were demolished to make room for the new house. The last house will replace an existing house that was simply falling down around its elderly widowed occupant. The Lord had told her that help was coming - she just didn't know when.

A major remodel of a home has been completed and the thankful family has moved back in. In this home, the widowed grandmother of seven is raising the children of her imprisoned daughter. Two of her own children are also living in this home. A leaky roof resulted in water damage inside the house - following torrential rains. Three additional remodel projects are underway.

Volunteers have completed re-roofing/roof repairs on seventeen homes. Old shingles were removed, sheeting replaced as needed and new shingles installed. In some cases, facia and soffit work was also done. This work was the result of deferred maintenance; homeowners who could not afford to make the needed repairs.
The internal benefits

The team experience is a time of unifying work, rich fellowship and a deepening appreciation for our diverse brotherhood. Teams are housed in a beautiful camp setting, where they enjoy delicious meals and take part in morning devotions, worship services, sharing of daily highlights, and other bonding activities. Many new friendships are made and existing relationships are strengthened. If you have not experienced this blessing yet, consider joining us next year.

See the progress

Photos are posted each week to the HarvestCall website showing highlights from each team's experience and progress on the homes. We notify people on our Facebook page when the newest batch of pics comes available, so please like our page or you can just regularly check harvestcall.org/columbia-team-photos.

Please prayerfully consider a donation to the Disaster Fund, which covers the cost of construction, and/or to the USA-Rebuilding Projects fund, which covers all the administrative costs of operating a large-scale, three-month project.

HarvestCall is grateful for the amazing support this ministry has received. We are so thankful for the many answered prayers for safety and protection; guidance and direction; and hearts that are trusting in and living the gospel. Please continue to pray. To God be the glory!
