Listening with eyes. Talking with hands.
|
Most of us with "normal hearing" take communication for granted. But those who are unable to hear often go through life underdeveloped socially and intellectually because of communication barriers. How does a Deaf person interact with hearing people through auditory languages and sound? Many Deaf do not reach their God-given potential if they are not properly educated and trained. They may not hear with their ears, but they listen with their eyes. They may not speak with their voice, but they talk with their hands. When using sign language to properly educate, train, and develop their God-given talent, Deaf CAN lead productive and happy lives, showing that they are not lacking, but capable of doing anything a hearing person can do.
