Giving God praise for what you did in Bastrop
A few months ago, HarvestCall wrapped up our annual disaster rebuilding ministry project near Bastrop, Texas.

Approximately 500 brothers, sisters, and friends from 53 Apostolic Christian congregations volunteered 23,000 hours as they shared the gospel and demonstrated the love of Christ with deeds of compassion.

Not only were homes built and repaired, but the Bastrop community saw a vivid example of how God can work through his children. The disaster victims were extremely grateful and gave God the praise. Watch their moving testimonies.

The people of Bastrop had nearly given up hope
2015 was a difficult year for Bastrop County, Texas. Within a period of just five months, this community experienced two floods and a wildfire. The first flood occurred when torrential rains dumped more than ten inches in just one day, following three weeks of heavy rains well above normal. Flash flooding was wide spread throughout the area as some rivers rose at the alarming rate of 5' in fifteen minutes.

The summer brought a very different weather pattern. Heat and very little rain dried the lush growth produced by the spring rains and created a tinderbox of fuel for a wildfire that destroyed 64 structures. Many of these were homes.

Just two weeks later, more than 14" of rainfall was recorded at the Austin Airport in just six hours. Once again, flash floods across the area impacted hundreds of families leaving many with no place to call home.

Working with The Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team, HarvestCall was directed to discouraged families who needed help to recover from these natural disasters. Five new homes were built for wildfire victims in addition to numerous remodel/repair projects for homes that were flooded. Lives were changed, hope was renewed, and the love of Jesus was shared. Not only were the recipients of these labors blessed, but those who served were blessed as well.

It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 2 Cor 4:16

The participation in this ministry through prayer, giving, supporting and/or going is both humbling and inspiring! God's abundant grace upon our brotherhood was reflected to the Bastrop community in a manner that contributed to (redounded to) the glory He is worthy of.
