Different cultures, but a common faith
Deep into Mexico, some 20+ hours (by car) south of the border, exists a small, but growing church of Apostolic Christians. While the language is different and there are some variations in local customs, brethren visiting Ixtlán experience the same love, deep fellowship, and preaching of Truth that we are blessed with in our U.S. congregations.

The Ixtlán church is part of our brotherhood, but being so remote, they can feel disconnected at times. How can we help?

Visiting Ixtlán
The brethren at Ixtlán regularly request two things from the mother church: prayer and presence. It is heart-touching to meet the brothers and sisters at church, enter their homes with weekday visits, and hear some of the joys and heartaches they experience. The Ixtlán church is touched and encouraged by the ministry of presence.

Laboring Together
Strangers become friends in the context of accomplishing common objectives. As one brother reported the progress by late morning, "The work is slow but the fellowship is sweet." Whether it is rebuilding school soccer nets, flushing hot water heaters, or replacing basketball backboards, relationships are built more easily within the context of shared labor. Technology has even opened new doors for those of us who are not Spanish speakers. For a few dollars/day smart phones operate as if in the USA. "Google Translate" enables essential communication quite effectively.

If you feel led to visit the Ixtlán church during a visit of another small group, please contact Bro. Rudy Troxel who will be coordinating these visits.

Prayer Support
Grounding believers through teaching and study of the Word is a core mission at Ixtlán. Please pray for ministering brothers Lalo Ugalde Santiago and Matt Gerber as they teach the Word and give themselves to the mission of sharing the gospel and making disciples.

The Ixtlan church also operates a Christian school (shown above), providing Biblical instruction and quality academics. Your prayers for this outreach are appreciated.

Lastly, the church solicits your prayers for safety and protection. While the town is generally quite safe during the day, drug cartel activity is an unpredictable reality, especially after dark.

Financial Support
If you are unable to visit, donations are greatly appreciated. HarvestCall funds the outreaches at Ixtlán, including operation of the Christian school.

In addition, the missionaries serving there are supported by contributions to the Servant Fund

The brethren there extend their greetings and thank you for your support.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10

As the Lord lays it on your heart, please consider this opportunity to encourage and strengthen the Ixtlán church family with your presence.

In Christian Love,
John Huber
Executive Director
