Returning to Our Roots
In the early 1800s, Samuel Froelich, the founder of the Apostolic Christian Church movement, and his followers planted 110 churches in at least 7 countries in a 35-year period. Later, when Benedict Weyeneth brought the faith to America, 36 churches were established in 11 states over a 35-year period.

Clearly, spreading the Word and starting churches is foundational to our heritage as Apostolic Christians.

HarvestCall's vision is that "God be glorified as despair and suffering are alleviated, hearts and minds are transformed, and churches are established and nurtured." The Church Establishment Committee (CEC) of HarvestCall is working to reignite our brotherhood's church planting zeal and provide resources to help.

The CEC is currently reviewing and praying about a proposal to the elder body for our first, new intentional church plant in the United States as a result of this work. This will likely have additional discussion at the upcoming August Conference. Information will be shared as decisions are made

Church Establishment Bible Study
A new Bible Study called "Church Establishment" is now available. The study was developed for brethren of all ages to examine ways they can use their talents to assist in the establishment of new churches and support smaller congregations and to increase awareness about the motivations and challenges of this work. It can be used individually or in a group setting.

This study is in alignment with Christ's Great Commission to "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15) and with HarvestCall's mission to enable brethren to proclaim Christ and serve others beyond the capacity of the local church.

How to Help with Church Planting or Bolstering
  • Pray for clear discernment for the brothers who are considering the location to start a new Apostolic Christian church.
  • Reflect on how God is using your gifts and talents locally or at a distance to teach. How might He be calling you to assist in these efforts?
  • Pray about relocating to a new or small church. Be willing to move if the Spirit directs
More ways to help, as well as helpful resources, are available online

Fulfilling this biblical charge will take everyone's support and prayers, as well as the Holy Spirit's leading. Our supplication for new and existing smaller churches is for them to grow and become thriving churches that exalt Jesus through obedience to His commandments. Will you join with us in prayer?

In Christian Love,
John Huber
