Restoration of joy
Seeing children restored to good health, and the joy it brings to their parents, never gets old. Thanks for helping make this possible at Hospital Lumiere. In the message below, we share about a current and time-sensitive opening, as well as a recent medical outreach to underserved communities.

Needed: teacher for missionary children

Like parents everywhere, our missionaries with young children are concerned about their educations. To fulfill that need, a one-room schoolhouse has been established on the Hospital Lumiere compound to provide loving Christian instruction to these young minds and hearts.

We have an immediate need for a teacher, beginning summer 2016.

This position involves full-time teaching in the multi-level classroom setting of the Bonne Fin Missionary School on the Hospital Lumiere compound. This is a full time missionary position with a service term of one school year. There is opportunity to extend the term of service.

Qualifications include being a member in good standing of the Apostolic Christian Church, a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the field of Education or Child Development, ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and visitors to the school, a nurturing and caring attitude toward children, and a heart and desire to serve others through service to Jesus Christ.

For additional details for this exciting and worthy position, e-mail Robert Beebe at robert.beebe1@gmail.com, or call 574-276-6748.
Pediatric outreach to remote villages

Dubois is a typical village in southern Haiti. With approximately 2,000 people, Dubois has no doctor, no clinic and no nurse. Dubois was one of five communities visited earlier this year by a HarvestCall pediatric medical team that conducted much needed clinics for school children. The pediatric clinics were conducted in conjunction with the HarvestCall Child Sponsorship Program to screen children for medical problems that could endanger their health or distract them from learning.

The pediatric team consisted of 2 physicians, 4 nurses and 3 support people. All 466 children that attended the pediatric clinics received a free nursing assessment. Of those, 166 were seen by a doctor (for a nominal charge) and 117 received treatment. A total of 94 of the children were referred to Hospital Lumiere for additional care and follow-up.

HarvestCall continues to look for ways to increase outreach in the communities around Hospital Lumiere. Future outreach plans include more clinics to provide needed medical care for school children in villages like Dubois. Your prayers and financial support are appreciated to continue the outreach.

"We really appreciate the way they arrived with equipment, medicine and doctors. They had a heart to come and help."

give you a greater appreciation and understanding of these and many other questions.

Numerous current and former missionaries to Haiti candidly shared their experiences on-camera. Learn what hurdles our Apostolic Christian missionaries face, how the preparation they receive helps them overcome these hurdles and the many other challenges they face. Hear how God blesses and provides for them as they serve. You will also learn how you can better support and pray for the 75+ Apostolic Christian missionaries and family members currently serving in foreign countries.

Pray
At Hospital Lumiere, they work not with just the physical person, but also seek to mend broken lives through the power of the gospel, which is something that Satan does not like to see. Pray that God would give wisdom and grace to the missionaries and open the spiritual eyes of the unconverted.

Give
Direct financial aid is sent to Hospital Lumiere each month to provide care to those who cannot afford it, and to make care affordable to those who can pay.
