As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be on a construction work team in Haiti? Or perhaps you've heard that we have Apostolic Christian brethren serving in Les Cayes, Haiti, but aren't sure what they are doing.

Our new, short video clip gives an overview of World Relief's construction ministry and shows how putting roofs on schools touches lives -- of the Haitians and the team participants.

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 1 Cor. 3:9
Giving poor communities a boost

In dozens of rural southern Haiti villages, with names like Abricot, Flamond, Mahotiere, Plaisance, and Basilaise, you'll see a church and a school building occupy the most prominent place in the community.

These buildings are not like what Americans would expect, but basic structures without plumbing, and most without electricity, windows or floor coverings. These communities have worked to build a foundation and concrete block walls, and then rely on World Relief work teams to construct the roof.

As a result of these efforts, many Haitian children have the opportunity to get a basic education, a privilege out of reach for many families in that poor country. Also, the enthusiasm and joy of the Haitian people is palpable as they gather on Sunday morning to worship in their churches.

How you can help

The Haiti Construction Program depends upon the Apostolic Christian brotherhood and supporters to continue the work in southern Haiti.

Pray. Please pray for the Apostolic Christian missionary families managing the program.

  • Bro. Scott and Sis. Mandy Yordy and Bro. Brent and Sis. Alisha Wagenbach would appreciate your prayer support as they work with the Haitian communities.
  • Pray for the Haitian souls that are touched by this ministry, that Haitian children could be educated and Haitian communities could have a place to worship and glorify God.

Consider joining a work team. There are teams scheduled each year for construction in southern Haiti, as well as several for water well drilling and trade school support. A detailed schedule is available on the website several months before the 2015-2016 work team season.

Serve Long Term. Considering becoming a part of the ministry, as assistance is needed to provide all the needs for the Construction Program and related ministries in Les Cayes.

Contribute financially. Donations can be made online and directed to Haiti-Construction. You may also contribute by sending a check to:

Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40

Due to its extreme material poverty and close proximity, Haiti represents a significant portion of our brotherhood's international outreach ministry. Counting the children of our Apostolic Christian missionary families, over 40 of our church people now live there.

A trip to Haiti is an experience you'll never forget, full of rich fellowship and rewarding service. On behalf of our Caribbean Committee, may we encourage you to prayerfully consider a visit?

Sincerely in Christ,

John Huber, Executive Director
