As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10

We Americans take so many things for granted.

We don't have to wonder if we'll get rained on while we worship during church services. Nor do our children need to battle the elements while receiving their educations at the local school. When we turn on the tap, we expect that our drinking water will be clean and healthy. And, when our young adults seek further eduction to prepare for a career, they typically have many options that will prepare them for meaningful careers. It is not so in Haiti.

A roof over their heads
In Haiti, many communities struggle with crudely constructed shelters of palm branches and saplings to keep the weather at bay until a more permanent structure can be constructed. World Relief construction teams have assisted in roof construction at many schools and churches over the last twenty years, working with the local Haitians to provide places of education and worship.

Clean water to drink
Many Haitian communities also lack clean water to drink. They must walk long distances to sometimes polluted water sources. Our Water Aid ministry has enabled hundreds of wells to deliver clean, abundant supplies of water to rural communities.
Training for a better future

Haiti is a land of many unemployed men and women with no marketable skills to compete in the workplace. Haiti Trade Schools provide opportunites to young men and women to learn from God's Word while developing a skilled trade to make a decent living and bring glory to God.

An abundance of ministry opportunities

These are but three of the Apostolic Christian World Relief ministries in southern Haiti. More opportunities await and the work to maintain our current commitments is great. There is work to do in the Lord's vineyard in the country of Haiti. It is a very poor country with many unmet needs and opportunities to be of Christian service as we walk alongside these dear souls.

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 1 Cor 3:9

More missionaries needed in Haiti

Several missionary positions are open at the Cite Lumiere compound, Les Cayes, Haiti. The specific job description may vary depending on the applicants interests and skills. Help is specifically needed in the following areas:

  • Carpentry
  • Mechanical experience
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to work with all types of people and personalities
  • Willingness to learn another language
  • Willingness to relocate to Haiti for 4-5 years
  • Member in good standing of the Apostolic Christian Church with the support of the local elder.

Comfortable housing will be provided in a safe compound with other missionaries, including some Apostolic Christian families. A school is available for families with children. Regular visits from Apostolic Christian work teams and ministers will ensure continuing frequent worship services and fellowship with the brotherhood. An informational trip to the missionary location can be arranged to orient a potential applicant family or individual to the work that they could have the opportunity to be a part of.

If you feel a calling to serve the Lord with any of the talents described, and would like to learn more, contact Bro. Jon Zeller at jczeller1979@gmail.com or (309) 208-0639.

Additional Ways to Help in Les Cayes / Cite Lumiere

Pray. Petition God for the success of the World Relief missions in Citi Lumiere and for our brethren that work in Haiti. Pray for the Haitian people, that they could experience Christ, and that through World Relief outreach efforts, their lives could be improved.

Consider joining a work team. There are teams scheduled each year for construction in southern Haiti, as well as several for water well drilling and trade school support. A detailed schedule is available on the website several months before the 2015-2016 work team season.

Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40

It is a privilege to be a part of this outreach work God is doing through our brotherhood, whether in Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, India or right here at home. Thanks for your continued support.

Sincerely in Christ,
