 Facilities Director
Hospital Lumière is seeking a qualified person to be assigned as Facilities Director of the hospital. Our present Facilities Director is planning to relocate January 1, 2015. Position description The Facilities Director is directly involved in managing the maintenance and repair of all hospital vehicles and non-medical equipment, and managing the renovation and construction of hospital buildings and facilities. This management includes developing programs of preventive maintenance and supervision of all personnel involved. The applicant should have experience in construction, vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, be a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, be willing to learn Creole and willing to relocate to Haiti for a minimum of two (2) years and up to five (5) years. Bito Beauvil arrived at Hospital Lumiere complaining of hoarseness that made it difficult for him to speak. A large cancerous mass was discovered that had invaded his voice box. Without intervention, this serious tumor would limit his life expectancy to only a few months. A volunteer visiting surgical team performed surgery and removed his cancerous voice box. After the total laryngectomy, Mr. Beauvil's windpipe was permanently sewn to his neck skin and a new upper esophagus was made to allow for a normal diet. However, without his voice box, Bito was left in a life of silence and could only communicate with his gentle smile. Thankfully, two electrolarynx devices were sent to Haiti to allow Bito to speak again. Thanks to the visiting medical team and to your prayers and financial support, Bito Beauvil is talking again and has extended life and new hope. ...I was sick, and ye visited me... Matthew 25:36 |

Medical - new Fall 2014 and 2015 dates available! Physicians and surgeons, anesthesiologist and pharmacists, lab and radiology techs, occupational & physical therapists and others willing to assist with general medical and surgical care are needed. Electricians, cabinet makers, plumbers and carpenters are needed to continue the renovations. Several weeklong trips are planned each year.
Apostolic Christian Church ministers are needed to accompany construction and medical teams. Ministers co-ordinate daily devotions and provide spiritual support to the team members, patients and hospital staff. |
 Hospital Lumiere has on-going financial needs for renovations, patient care, and to offset the costs of hospital staff.
