You Can Make a Difference in a Life

Come and share in the rewarding work of helping bring hope and comfort to the victims of the May tornadoes. For many, it has been over six months since their homes were destroyed or severely damaged. Beyond the destruction from the high winds, heavy rains that accompanied the tornadoes caused significant interior damage to homes that sustained roof damage. Wet drywall has led to black mold and other unhealthy conditions that need to be corrected.

The young girl in the picture below was pulled from beneath a vehicle several hours after the tornado had passed. Work is being done in her home to repair water damage.

"I was so blessed to meet you and your group...
I hope my home is not too much trouble and I know things will look great when done. I have cried a lot this weekend just knowing I will have my home back in order soon. You have made our family so happy and we are so grateful for the things you are going to do for us."

  Accomodations and Additional Information

Accommodations for volunteers will be at The Heartland Retreat Center in Oklahoma City. Dormitory type housing for both men and women will be provided along with three meals each day throughout the work week.
