Your Involvement

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:10

URGENT NOTICE!

The city of Washington, IL has suspended the cleanup project in Washington for tomorrow, Thursday, November 21.

This is a city of Washington decision that is out of our control. They need time to remove all of the debris that has been placed along streets in the disaster area, as this is in the way of volunteer workers.

Work will resume on Friday, Saturday and into next week. We are sorry for the inconvenience this creates for all involved.

  Instructions for Volunteers

Friday, Saturday and next week

All volunteers should report to the Washington Apostolic Christian Church at 432 E. Cruger Road.
  • The start time is 8:00 AM and concludes at dusk.
  • Local World Relief representatives will direct you to the areas where help is needed.
  • Lunches are being served in the work area by The Red Cross and other disaster organizations.
  • An evening meal is available at the church.
  • It is suggested that each volunteer has a recent tetanus shot.
  • In the interest of safety, we request that volunteers be 16 years and older.

Tools needed
Although there are two World Relief tool trailers in Washington, the area is too large for everyone to have access to these tools. Tools such as hammers, screw guns, rakes, shovels, brooms will be helpful. Tarps and lath are also needed.
