Greetings!
Joy to the World, the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heav'n and nature sing.
Although the memories of the holiday season have faded, and Spring is here, the eternal truths contained in the words of this age-old hymn ring in the hearts of believers. Perhaps nowhere is this more vibrant than in Eastern Europe where once the flame of faith among the Nazarean brethren in previous centuries burned in countless cities, towns, and villages.  These believers today, rooted in common Anabaptist doctrine as Apostolic Christians, with sincerity and joy, still espouse the Lord as King, although in far fewer numbers. Despite many difficult circumstances, they continue to prepare Him room in their hearts and to sing His praises in an ever-darkening area of the world.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground.
He comes to make His blessing flow
Far as the curse is found.
 Although the atrocities of war, the deprivations of Communism, and the rigors of religious persecution are now history, scars remain indelibly scratched into the lives of the people. This unfortunate legacy of the past, coupled with the weak, unstable, unresponsive, and mismanaged governments of the present, have beset the people with numerous sorrows.
Their lives are infested with the thorns of rampant inflation, pervasive unemployment, and steadily rising taxes. Quality healthcare remains available only to those with the ability to personally finance it. Social safety nets for the fringes of society are virtually nonexistent. In addition, as social media and other communications reach all classes of people, the curses of materialism and consumerism engulf all who lie in their paths.
And yet over the past decades, God has allowed His blessings to flow to the Nazarean brethren through the distribution of World Relief aid and assistance in the form of sustenance for the elderly, infirm, and destitute. Medicines and medical supplies account for a growing share of that assistance.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove,
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love.
 Across the face of Europe today the centuries-old mantle of personal faith and devotion is being cast off, as apathy pervades men's hearts seeking comfort, pleasure, and material security. As Eastern European Nazareans continue to seek God in truth and grace, and the world continues to grow darker, their examples of His righteousness draw seeking souls from the surrounding villages and towns. Their selfless deeds of charity and kindness, to believer and non-believer alike, are evidence of the wonders of His grace and love.
Their lives of integrity lie in stark contrast to the corruption and survivalist self-benefit seen at every level surrounding them. In response, World Relief continues to support and stabilize these families with self-help loans, projects and business enhancements.

Joy to the world! The Saviour reigns,
Let men their songs employ.
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy.
Despite and through these circumstances, trials, and deprivations, these Nazarean brethren across three centuries have recognized and understood the sovereignty of God, and rejoiced and taken refuge therein. Faith in God's providence and provision has opened the way. God's faithfulness has been proven and demonstrated beyond any doubt. 
And thus the natural response of the converted heart is to swell with praise and song, laden with joy. Eastern European Nazarean church culture is laced with dedication to music as an integral part of worship and praise. The Apostolic Christian European Church Building Fund has often assisted with scripture and hymnal translations, new church buildings and renovations, and vehicles for transportation.

 Continue to pray that Eastern European brethren can stand in the power of God's grace holding the banner of salvation to a fallen world.
