World Relief Disaster Fund

The Disaster Fund is used to help relieve hunger and suffering in domestic and international disaster areas. Although grants are usually made three times a year when the World Relief Board meets to consider requests for aid, a disaster of this proportion can't wait for the next meeting.
 We have initially committed funds for the relief on the East Coast and anticipate sending more once we know how we can best help. The USA Committee is assessing the needs and will monitor the distribution of these funds.

If we receive more funds than are needed for the Hurricane Sandy disaster, we will use the extra funds for future disasters.

Most of us are aware of the tragic disaster on the East Coast that abruptly impacted the lives of thousands of families. As the images and stories emerged, we saw the devastation and suffering was tragic. 
In dozens of Scriptures we are instructed to help the poor and needy. While we are directed by God to do this, we also do it out of a heartfelt compassion for those souls whose lives will never be the same. 
The World Relief Board feels the burden of responsibility when administering these funds, and we turn to the Lord in prayer.
