What a fall this has been!  We RiverQuest guides came to the fall salmon season with some degree of apprehension. Salmon plants down; alewife numbers in Lake Michigan down; mixed reports from Big Blue charter guys-all of which left us wondering what sort of Chinook run we would have this year. Well, the grades are in, and surely, the 2013 salmon run on the Muskegon River ranks the best in perhaps a decade: more fish and significantly larger fish.  Our customers boated numerous salmon larger than twenty pounds and found themselves rubbing sore arms and shoulders at days end.  Sweet pain, to be sure!

Best of all, though, the steelhead that followed the salmon upstream are some of the best conditioned and largest chromers we've seen in years.  We aren't biologists so we have no explanation for the good fly fishing forturne we are living each day on the MO, but, man, are we and our customers thankful for it!
