ISSUE 37

Having just returned from a trip south to Savannah, Georgia and having enjoyed traveling through the various states to and fro, my wife and I found ourselves once again reflecting on how much we love Michigan.  To be sure, each state reflects its own charm, but the natural beauty and richness of the resources Michigan offers rivals the best of the US.  Just yesterday, a paddleboarder customer of mine, who the day before had competed in a race in Holland on Lake Michigan, marveled at the spectacle of Pacific salmon scooting here and there in a river clear and bright.  New to fly fishing and our rivers, he, too, reflected on how special Michigan's natural resources truly are.

So here we stand looking ahead with great anticipation to yet another Michigan plus-our annual fall color show.  Here's hoping that unlike the residents from Savannah. who would sort of quiver and shake as they told me that had never visited such a cold and forbidding place, you're able to get out and live Michigan's great outdoors-maybe even with RiverQuest Charters and the Muskegon River Lodge.
