ISSUE 36

July in Michigan, the height of our summer vacation season. The Fourth of July, Lake Michigan beaches, cookouts by the fire, family memories, and so much more-all part of what makes our state such a great place in which to live. But, then, it's way more than these because our rivers and the gamefish that inhabit them offer four seasons of fly fishing action.  This month, we choose between nymphing trout in the riffles and popping smallmouth bass tight to cover. Each has its unique charm; both relax and renew. These fisheries will continue into August so here's hoping amid the busyness of summer, you can find time to sample summertime fly fishing.  We look forward to it every year with great anticipation and would love to share it with you.
