Issue No. 102
Dear Abundant Ones,

We are always running around like bees in a hive at Abundance. The hot and humid glory days of summer are here, and like bees, we are not the type to slow down during the summer; there is much to gather, see, and hear. And we are delighted at the pounds of blueberries coming off the bushes right now. So delighted, in fact, that we ate a very large bowl of blueberries at our Monday Morning Meeting this week as if it was a bowl of chips. There is much to be delighted about...

Our 3rd Annual Harvest Abundance Dinner & Live Auction is Sunday, July 20th from 5-8pm at Oakleaf! ALL proceeds benefit Abundance and Chatham Mills Farmers' Market!

We're looking for donated items, gear, and experiences for the live auction. If you're interested in donating an item, all we need to know is the item, the approximate value, and when a good time to pick up would be.

"THINKING DIFFERENTLY"
Teaching Old Dogs New Tricks

The Collective Biodiesel Conference is geared toward active and open collaboration among participants, including home brewers, grease collectors, multi-million gallon producers, and everyone in between.

This conference is designed to provide sufficient detail for participants to put what they learn, both technical and logistical, directly into action. In addition to open forums and lectures, the conference also features case studies from active Biodiesel co-ops and companies.

If you are wondering about whether or not attending will be worth your while, we suggest you go ahead and jump...

SOLARIZE CHATHAM MEETINGS

Dozens of successful Solarize campaigns have been popping up all over the country since the first one was launched in Portland in 2009.  Solarize's group-buying power model lowers the price dramatically. With the Solarize discount combined with over 60% tax credits and other incentives available to businesses and homeowners. Solarize Chatham has had a lot of interest so far.  We already have about 200 sign-ups for assessments! Through the program financing is available for those who need it.

These are free and without any obligation--they simply allow homeowners to understand their solar resource and how solar will work for them.  We're signing people up  through July 31st.  Everyone who's signed up will be eligible for the group buying price, so the more who sign up and ultimately install the more we save.

There are info sessions coming up (details below) where solar installers will explain solar, the Solarize program, and answer your questions. Visit Solarize-NC.org for the full schedule of info sessions, and check back as more are scheduled. Hope you can make it!
