Issue No. 91

Dear Abundant Ones,

We had an inspiring turn-out for our Cafeteria Man Panel Discussion this past Monday. School lunch is a very complex and emotional topic as evidenced by the incredible dialogue we heard on Monday. We want to applaud those who voiced their thoughts, stories, and opinions on the school lunch program they want to see, how institutional food service should be designed, the changes to make, the successes they would like to witness. We will be creating a School Lunch Task Force. To join, let us know: [email protected]

We are in the final weeks before our
2nd Annual Farming Adaptation Conference, which educates North Carolina farmers, gardeners, and agriculture researchers about risk and variability of crops and livestock, and provides strategies for reducing vulnerabilities for today and five to ten years down the road.

At our pre-conference event on February 6th (the night before the conference) Frank Stasio will be interviewing Albert Bates, Liane Salgado, Michiel Doorn and Lyle Estill about global and local perspectives on carbon & climate change! There will also be beer, wine, and a New Orleans Jazz band, the Decatur Street Beat! This will happen at our Amuse Bouche event at the Fearrington Barn the night before the Farming Adaptation Conference!

Our climate change adaptation conference is all about working on the problem locally and from the bottom-up, keeping the registration prices low and coming together as a community! Join us: REGISTER HERE

As always, thanks for your ongoing support & generosity.
