Board Announces Appointment of New Principals for Creekside Middle School and
Stanton Elementary School
At a special meeting on July 15th, the Governing Board of the Castro Valley Unified School District took action to appoint Jaliza Eagles as Principal for Creekside Middle School and Robin Ormsby as Principal for Stanton Elementary School.
Ms. Eagles is currently the assistant principal of Castro Valley High School. She is replacing Mr. Walt Lewis who resigned recently to take a new position with Dublin Unified School District. Before working in Castro Valley Unified, Ms. Eagles was previously an assistant principal and grant coordinator for San Leandro Unified School District. She joined Castro Valley Unified School District initially as the coordinator of the district's college and career grant. Her expertise as an administrator and a college and career specialist has prepared her well for her new position.
Ms. Ormsby is currently one of the district's summer school principals and most recently the interim principal and classroom teacher at Stanton Elementary. Ms. Ormsby is replacing Jennifer Tomita who will assume the position of Palomares Elementary Principal and Special Projects Coordinator for the school district. Ms. Ormsby joined the Castro Valley Unified School District in 2002 as a preschool teacher at Alma Preschool and then moved to Stanton in 2004. Prior to working in Castro Valley she taught in Nevada for 6 years. For the last two years, Ms. Ormsby has also served as the district's summer school principal.
Vice President Jo A.S. Loss said, "The Governance Team is pleased to add two veteran Castro Valley Unified School District employees to the administrative ranks. We know that they will continue to make significant contributions to our students and staff."
