Jennifer Tomita Named
Principal of Palomares Elementary School
"I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jennifer Tomita as the Principal of Palomares Elementary School," stated Superintendent Jim Negri today. "Jennifer has been an outstanding principal and leader for the past ten years at Stanton Elementary School."
Superintendent Negri continued, "Jennifer has always had a strong commitment to the success of every student and is well-versed in the implementation of the California curriculum standards. I look forward to Jennifer's continued leadership at Palomares."
Dr. Tomita will replace Jessica Wrobleski who resigned due to moving out of the area. Besides serving as the Principal of Palomares Elementary School, Mrs. Wrobleski served as the Coordinator of the Tri-Valley Teacher Induction Program (TVTIP), a partnership with Pleasanton, Livermore, and Dublin school districts which supports beginning teachers.
While the primary responsibility will be as Principal of Palomares Elementary School, Dr. Tomita will also serve as the District Coordinator for Special Projects within the Educational Services Department. She will be located at Palomares for both positions as was Mrs. Wrobleski.
Dr. Tomita started her maternity leave this week and Pat Eppard will serve as the Interim Principal of Palomares to open the 2015-2016 school year. Before retiring, Mrs. Eppard served a Principal and TVTIP Coordinator at Palomares.
When Mrs. Wrobleski announced that she would be leaving Palomares, the District opened the position and interviewed only current district administrators who expressed an interest transferring to the shared Palomares Principal/Coordinator of Special Projects position.
The district will be starting the process shortly to replace Mrs. Tomita as Principal of Stanton Elementary School.
