Superintendent Search Process and Timeline
On March 4, 2015, the board selected Education Leadership Services (ELS) to conduct the search for the Superintendent. Dr. Rick Brewer with ELS will present the superintendent search timeline, schedule, and process for the board to review and approve.

Superintendent Search Timeline
- March 16* - Planning Meeting to determine process, scope and agree to timeline - Ads placed in ACSA's EDCal on March 30th, April 6th, and April 20th.
- March 23, 24 - Board, community and staff input to develop Leadership Profile. Dr. Brewer will hold group and individual interviews with key stakeholders and have written and on-line input surveys available for district constituents.
- April 6-10 - Adviser drafts Leadership Profile criteria and sends to Board for review and approval.
- April 9* - Board reviews and approves Leadership Profile.
- April 9** - Board begins development of interview questions. Each Board member individually selects 20 questions from the ELS bank of questions. Sample interview questions will be provided.
- April 16 - Initial interview questions from each Board member due to ELS
- May 1 - Applications close.
- May 2 - Professional paper screening and review of all candidates' files. Board is also provided with a copy of each candidate's application and file for their own review.
- May 2- May 14 - Advisor performs reference checks. Board reviews applications and files (Board members will drop by District Office to review the files sent to the District by Mar. 11).
- May 14** - Board receives advisor's reference check report and determines candidates to interview. Special Board Meeting.
- May 14** - Board selects final interview questions.
- May 22, 23** - Interviews by Board. Board determines candidates for second-level interviews. Board conducts second-level interviews.
- May 23** - Adviser begins to notify unsuccessful candidates. Board makes tentative selection of top candidate. Advisor completes comprehensive criminal, credit, DMV, university degree, and credentials check on top candidate.
- May 26-29 - Optional: Board visits community of top candidate.
- TBD - Advisor assists Board in negotiating contract with top candidate. Board selects new superintendent.
- TBD - Board takes action to hire superintendent and introduce to community.
- A new superintendent should be selected and a contract signed by the June 11, 2015 Board meeting.
