Education Leadership Services Selected
to Conduct Search for Superintendent
At a Special Board meeting on March 4, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education unanimously selected Education Leadership Services to conduct the search to hire the next superintendent. Education Leadership Services was founded by Dr. Wendell Chun. Dr. Chun and Dr. Rick Brewer will conduct the search for the district.
The Board of Education received eight (8) Request for Proposals (RFPs) and a board subcommittee composed of Board President John Barbieri and Board Vice President Jo Loss narrowed the pool to three firms to interview. Besides Education Leadership Services, the board interviewed HYA Executive Search and Leadership Associates.
The board appreciated Education Leadership Services approach to involving all stakeholders in the process to develop the Leadership Profile (i.e., desired characteristics and experiences) as well as its commitment to diversity. Education Leadership Services also provides support after the superintendent is hired.
Education Leadership Services will be meeting with the board to establish opportunities and timelines for community input. These dates will be published as soon as they are set.
