REGULAR BOARD MEETING AGENDA
January 29, 2015


The Board of Education will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Thursday, January 29, 2015, in the Board Room of the Castro Valley Unified School District Office (4400 Alma Avenue).  Closed Session starts at 5:00 p.m. with Open Session in the Board Room at 7:00 p.m.  
 
The Board of Education normally meets the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m.  Meetings may be moved due to the school calendar or other conflicts. Please check the calendar of board meetings for the most current information or contact the District Office (510.537.3000).  

 

Board meetings are open to the public and the public may comment on issues under consideration by the board at the meeting at the time the board discusses the agenda item.  For items not on the agenda, the public may comment on issues under the jurisdiction of the board under "Public Comment on Items not on the Agenda," which has been moved earlier in the agenda to just prior to the Consent Agenda.  Speakers are requested to submit a "Request to Speak" form prior to the agenda item.

 

Agendas for Regular Board Meetings are posted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.  Agendas for Special Board Meetings are posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.  The agenda and the board packet are posted on the district website.  In addition to this online board packet, board packets are available for review at the District Office and the Castro Valley Library.

  • A presentation by Chabot Elementary School with  recognition of an outstanding student and volunteer;
  • Recognition of the California League of Middle Schools Region IV Educator of the Year Gail Swartzendruber from Creekside Middle School;
  • Adoption of new and revised Courses of Study, and the 2015-2016 Programming Guide for Castro Valley High School;
  • Adoption of BP3350, Travel Expenses;
  • Approval of Overnight Field Trips;
  • A sharing by board members of information obtained at the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Annual Conference;
  • Reports from the Student Board Member, CSEA President, CVTA President, Superintendent, and Trustees; and
  • Closed Session Agenda, which includes the following:
    • Readmission of Expelled Students;
    • Personnel Report; and
    • Conference with labor negotiators.
