BOARD MEETING AGENDA
November 13, 2014

Please note that there is only one meeting in November and December.


The Board of Education will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Thursday, November 13, 2014, in the Board Room of the Castro Valley Unified School District Office (4400 Alma Avenue).  Closed Session starts at 5:30 p.m. with Open Session at 7:00 p.m.  
  

The Board of Education normally meets the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m.  Meetings may be moved due to the school calendar or other conflicts. Please check the calendar of board meetings for the most current information or contact the District Office. 

 

Please note that there is only one meeting in November due to Thanksgiving break.

 

Board meetings are open to the public and the public may comment on issues under consideration by the board at the meeting at the time the board discusses the agenda item.  For items not on the agenda, the public may comment on issues under the jurisdiction of the board (i.e., Public Comment on Items not on the Agenda, or 9:30 p.m., whichever occurs first).  Speakers are requested to submit a "Request to Speak" form prior to the agenda item.

 

Agendas for Regular Board Meetings are posted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.  Agendas for Special Board Meetings are posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.  The agenda and the board packet are posted on the district website.  In addition to this online board packet, board packets are available for review at the District Office and the Castro Valley Library.

Agenda for November 13th
The agenda for the November 13th board meeting includes the following:
  • A report from Stanton Elementary School;
  • Recognition of an outstanding student and volunteer from Stanton Elementary School;
  • The Annual Personnel Commission Report;
  • An update on the Special Education program;
  • An update on the Technology Plan;
  • Approval and adoption of Board Policies in 5000 Series and 6000 Series;
  • Adoption of Board Bylaw 9250;
  • Adoption of the Budget Development Calendar;
  • A Public Hearing and the adoption of a resolution, Regarding Accounting of Development Fees for 2013-2014 Fiscal Year;
  • Adoption of resolution to Repeal SB 858, Local Reseves Cap, which takes effect with the passage of Property 2;
  • Adoption of resolution to Close the Commercial Property Tax Loophole under Proposition 13;
  • An update of Alameda County meetings as they relate to the district;
  • Approval of Purchase Orders, Position Control Report, Personnel Report, Program Improvement/Supplemental Educational Services Contracts and a Stipulated Expulsion Order; and
  • Adoption of Minutes and resolutions for Special Education Day and Obsolete/Surplus Property.
