SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
STUDY SESSION:  FACILITIES REPORT

October 16, 2014


The Board of Education will hold a Special Board Meeting:  Study Session on the Facilities Report on Thursday, October 16, 2014, in the Board Room of the Castro Valley Unified School District Office (4400 Alma Avenue).  The Study Session will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a tour of schools, followed by a board discussion of the Facilities Report. The board discussion will begin no earlier that 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room.  No action will be taken at this meeting.  See the agenda here.
 

The Board of Education normally meets the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m.  Meetings may be moved due to the school calendar or other conflicts. Please check the calendar of board meetings for the most current information or contact the District Office.

  

Board meetings are open to the public and the public may comment on issues under consideration by the board at the meeting at the time the board discusses the agenda item.  For items not on the agenda, the public may comment on issues under the jurisdiction of the board (i.e., Public Comment on Items not on the Agenda, or 9:30 p.m., whichever occurs first).  Speakers are requested to submit a "Request to Speak" form prior to the agenda item.

 

Agendas for Regular Board Meetings are posted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.  Agendas for Special Board Meetings are posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.  The agenda and the board packet are posted on the district website.  In addition to this online board packet, board packets are available for review at the District Office and the Castro Valley Library.

Agenda for October 16th 
The agenda for the Board Study Session on October 16th includes the following:
  • At 5:00 p.m., the board will start in the District Board Room and then tour the following schools: Palomares Elementary School, Jensen Ranch Elementary School, Vannoy Elementary School, Alma Preschool and Castro Valley Adult and Career Education. The public may participate in the tour.

  • No earlier than 7:00 p.m., the board will return to the Board Room to discuss how it plans to proceed in addressing the findings in the Facilities Report that was presented to the Board of Education by a representative from Total School Solutions at the May 22, 2014, meeting of the Board of Education. A copy of the Facilities Report is available in the Business Services Office and on the district website.  No action will be taken at this meeting.
