New Reporting Forms Explained
Dr. Candi Clark, Assistant Superintendent for Business Services, explained two new reporting forms that the board will be receiving. As the district has moved to a new purchasing system, the Purchasing Report has taken a slightly different format. The board discussed what information that it would like to see on future reports, which will be presented at the August 28 meeting.
The second reporting form was a Position Control report for all employee positions in the district. This report is a budget report that tracks open, unfilled positions and positions that have been closed and are no longer included in the budget.
After discussion, the board approved both reports, which when finalized will be included on the Consent Agenda in the future.

September is PTA Membership Month
The board adopted Resolution 06-14/15, Declaring September 2014 to be PTA Membership Month. Read the resolution here. All parents are strongly encouraged to join their local PTA or parent club to support our schools. Research clearly demonstrates that active, engaged parents make a difference in the achievement of their students.

School Attendance is Critical to Student Success
The board adopted Resolution 05-14/15, Declaring September 2014 Attendance Awareness Month. Read the resolution here. Research clearly shows that student success and achievement is very dependent on students being present to take advantage of every learning opportunity. The more often that a student misses school, the opportunity to learn is reduced; however, the district is not encouraging parents to send sick students to school. The schools and district will work with parents to support student attendance.
