Public Hearing:

Proposed 2014-2015 Preliminary Budget

Dr. Candi Clark, Assistant Superintendent for Business Services, reviewed the 2014-2015 Preliminary Budget, which has few changes based on the Governor's May Budget Revision.  There are no new increases in funding, but there is an increase in the district's and employee's contribution to the State Teacher Retirement System (STRS) that will cost the district approximately an additional $500,000 next year.  The Legislature is currently considering a number of funding bills and is required to adopt a budget by June 15.  The Governor then has until June 30 to sign it.

Energy Conservation Program

Ray Villegas, the district's Energy Education Specialist and teacher at Redwood High School, reviewed the district's conservation efforts this year.  Through April 2014, the district had saved $657,487 through the use of solar panels.  See the PowerPoint presentation here.
