Newsletter # 75
November 15, 2015
IN THIS ISSUE:
Our hearts go out to those in Paris who have lived through the atrocities of this weekend.

Sending out a huge HUG and THANK YOU to all the queens, chapters and independent members who have already sent in their 2016 membership renewals.
Yeah! We're now in our 7th year! Convention plans for the next 2 years are already well underway - thank you to the two provinces who stepped forward to take on the task of hosting!!
We have several Royal Courts now operational in various provinces and some provinces are even hosting smaller provincial conventions.
We love seeing your photos on Facebook and the Jewel Box of all the FUN you're having together. So many of you have told us what the CJCS means to you and how it's changed your life for the better. Keep the comments coming. There are days we need to know it's worth all the work we do. We are so honoured that you feel that way. Some of your comments have been posted on our informational website: www.crownjewelsofcanada.com
Recently I had the sad task of adding another Jewel to our Memorial Page... we have 60 Jewels listed but there are many more we weren't told about who should be there too. To the chapters who have lost members recently we send you special hugs. It's never easy to lose a friend.
Whatever you and your chapter are up to - have FUN and don't forget to share your photos!

2016 MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
2016 Membership Packages and forms were sent to every member on September 22nd, 2015. Complete membership information was included in the October newsletter.
2016 Forms are available from Melanie (office@cjcsmembers.com) and the form to use is dated September 22, 2015. No other form will be accepted due to Canada's Anti-Spam laws, and you MUST submit a form with your renewal, whether you are an Independent renewal or a Chapter.
This new form will be used to register, renew, or add a member.
All membership renewals are to be paid no later than December 31st.
We thank you for your cooperation!
QUEENS: WHEN SUBMITTING MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL...
Melanie has asked that it be stressed to all Queens the importance that when they send their forms that ALL NEW or CHANGED INFORMATION BE HIGHLIGHTED OR UNDERLINED IN RED the way it says to in the box beside where it says "PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS"
To double check the accuracy of every email, address and phone number is EXTREMELY time consuming. We looks only for changes.

ALL MEMBERS:
When you receive your confirmation, it's YOUR responsibility to please ensure we have your correct email addresses.  Regarding your postal address - we have sent packages recently to several members who've not received them because we had the incorrect information for them in our data base.  We are not responsible for extra costs that may be incurred if you haven't advised us what your new mailing address is and you've ordered something, i.e. pins. We need your help on this. Thank you!
Convention Photos
I am posting some of the photos on The Jewel Box for you to view. The photographer was amazing. Thank you NS Committee. If you had photos taken you should have received an email directly from the photographer on how to order.
REPORT FROM MANITOBA
A Royal Court was held in Winnipeg on October 22 and was attended by queens and vice queens from many areas of Manitoba, as well as Debbie Lamb from Ontario.
The ladies voted to rename the group to "Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario Regional Royal Court."
There was a short business meeting, lunch and then everyone was entertained by Irene Sigaliki, a local musician.
The Royal Court discussed plans for upcoming events and future Royal Courts.
A few photos have been posted on the Facebook Royal Court page.

Safety with your Email
Today I received - in just one day - 73 pieces of junk mail. Sadly, many were sent from our members computers. Please, change your password now if you've heard people say you are sending them spam and I just hope your friends don't click on the link in your email!!!
I know that Canada Revenue isn't going to send me a refund via an email/internet transfer/ That I didn't win a million dollars/ That there is no such thing as Bill Gates or anyone else "giving" anything away/ etc. Do you? If an email is not from someone you know, please don't open it. But, I also receive many emails supposedly from our members and inside is a link. When I look at the return address it's sometimes actually showing it's from that member, or a strange email address. Regardless, I do not open it and neither should you. If you want to send a link to someone please include a personal note (Lynda I think you might want to review this as it's about...) but I still won't click on that link. Always open your browser and try to enter the information that way. Also send a second email to tell them you've just sent them a link and that it's safe to open.
The most recent trick is that you may get a pop-up telling you to upgrade your Adobe Flash - but don't click on it. Go directly to the Adobe site and search for updates on their site where it's safe.
It's sickening how many people work to destroy our coputers and cot us money in repairs. Please be safe!
It's hard to be a woman...
You must think like a man, Act like a lady,
Look like a young girl and
Work like a horse.

Age is simply the number of years
the world has been enjoying you!

Live your life, take chances,
Be crazy, don't wait...
Because right now is the oldest you've ever been,
and the youngest you'll ever be again!
