Do you remember where these posters were created and where they are now?

Visit the K-O Facebook page and answer the question.  First one to post the correct answer will get a surprise.

If you haven't "friended" us yet be sure to "LIKE" our page when you get there!!

TELL ME A STORY

We will be sending an e-mail to your pastor or church office in the next few weeks giving each church in the K-O Conference the opportunity to have a week in the
K-O e-NEWS where they can tell the story of a ministry their church is doing or anything else that you want to share.

This is a way to share the good news of what is going on across the life of the conference; it is a way to share ideas that may encourage others to try something similar; and it builds our sense of being connected to each other as churches spreading the good news of the gospel.

You don't have to be a professional writer to submit information.  Just tell a story the way you feel comfortable.    Send to kofocus@yahoo.com

IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY A SUBSCRIBER TO THE K-O e-NEWS,

NICARAGUA

Trinity United in Cheney will be sponsoring a mission exploration trip to Nicaragua.  Tentative travel dates are July 25 - Aug. 2, 2013

This trip is designed for people who are considering getting involved with overseas missions.  This trip is to match people and churches with sites that need what you can offer. For example, some churches have a passion for building things, but that is not appropriate for each site.  We will look at sites that have needs for health, education, environment, women's issues, as well as some churches with their specific needs.

We will spend a couple of days with Trinity's partner village of Santa Emilia, Nicaragua as well as nearby La Flor.  The plan is that we also spend a couple of days with our Global Missions missionaries LauraJean Torgerson and Tim Donaghy looking at churches and projects in the north of Nicaragua. Then we will spend a couple of days looking at Just Hope site Chacreseca in central Nicaragua.
The cost is not set yet, but it will probably be $750, plus air fare,
depending upon activities and number of participants.

If you have any questions, please contact Patrick Nixon

 EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

   Safe Conduct Workbench

Welcome to the SafeConduct™ Workbench. Here we provide tools to help you develop and participate in your ministry's abuse prevention program. These include access to services and other reference materials. Services are available to all United Church of Christ, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Presbyterian Church (USA) churches, related entities, and camps.

Getting Started:  If you have a policy now, we recommend you begin with a Self Assessment to identify additional needs.  If you are just beginning or need to reinforce your policy, use the SafeConduct Policy Template. The training and background checking services we provide are only part of a strong abuse prevention program.

VISIT THE INSURANCE BOARD WEBPAGE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

The K-O Conference Committee on Ministry encourages all local churches that have youth programs to adopt a "Safe Church Policy" and train the staff and volunteers.  The Insurance Board has valuable resources to assist you.
