Dear fellow travelers,
As we continue our journey together in Oklahoma and Kansas, God has blessed us with many opportunities for ministry. Our Executive Committee took another step along the path by inviting Edith Guffey to join us as Designated Conference Minister. Many of you know Edith through her history in K-O as well as in the national setting of the United Church of Christ. Ms. Guffey's commitment to covenantal relationships resonated with the committee, and we are thrilled that she has embraced partnership with us. Please welcome Edith at our Annual Meeting as we place her nomination before the conference.
Edith Guffey's nomination is a culmination of the work of the Conference Innovations Committee, chaired by Mark Van Dorn. Congratulations and many thanks to the members of that group that crafted the Ministry Plan on behalf of the entire conference. Kansas-Oklahoma Conference is modeling creative relationship-building practices that will transform our church into a powerful voice for the Still Speaking Spirit. Conference Council greatly appreciates your participation in our ministry, and we look forward to celebrating with you in Wichita in November.
Peace,
Jeff Keller
