TOP TEN REASONS TO ATTEND THE ANNUAL MEETING AND REGISTER BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14

  1. Registering by Friday gives you a discount on your registration fee.  We have kept registrations cost down for a second year in a row, only $36 for both days or if you are 18 years old or younger it will be FREE.  Registering after September 14 incurs an additional $25.
  2. Registering by Friday means you will receive your Annual Meeting book in the mail so you can cruise the reports, plans, and business items all before the meeting starts-and be ready to hop up to the mike and let your voice be heard.
  3. You won't want to miss our keynote speaker, Rev. Ben Guess, UCC Executive Minister for Local Church Ministries.  Ben has served in the national setting of the UCC in a variety of roles for eleven years and was elected to his current role in 2011.  He is a journalist, activist, pastor, and leader.  Ben's knowledge and love of the church, his experience as a pastor of a vibrant, renewing church, his commitment to justice, and his service in the national setting will come through in an engaging and inspirational way during his time with us-seriously!
  4. You will get to meet and call by election our next conference minister.
  5. Bring some canned soup and add it to our tower of canned goods that will feed the hungry in Wichita.  At Saturday's banquet we'll hear the story of how one congregation has been transformed by starting a food pantry for the neighborhood.
  6. Worship on Sunday morning with the delegates and visitors of the Annual Meeting with the vibrant congregation of Pilgrim UCC, Wichita.
  7. Make a joyful noise and enjoy the musical gifts of a local string quartet at Friday's banquet and a Celtic band at Saturday's banquet.
  8. Start your Christmas shopping early and visit the bookstore and fair trade store for those classic, trendy, and sustainable gifts for everyone on your list.
  9. We are providing FREE continental breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday morning-enjoy the yum.
  10. Meet new friends and renew old friendships.  Gather around the tables and visit in the hallways as you share the good news of what God has been doing in our midst.  Feel the energy of being a part of something larger than yourself-and then go out and share that with the world.
