Pet Crafts
 
Want to make something special for your pet for the Holidays? Come to our Pet Craft day on Sunday Dec 1st from 2 - 4 pm. We will be in the dining room at Jarman Center, 704 N. Main in Tuscola.

We will have fabric, thread, stuffing and other supplies. There will be people running sewing machines to help sew the projects.You are welcome to bring your own pattern or fabric.

There is no fee for the event.

 
Santa Paws
 
Bring your pets or children for photos with Santa Claws. Santa will be at Jarman Center on December 7th from 9:00 am - 1:30 pm. Appointments available from 9:00 - 11:30. Call 508-8489 to set up your appointment. Walk-ins welcome after 11:30. Photos are $5 each. Purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a dog or cat gift basket. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Angel Tree

Help the dogs and cats at the Douglas County Animal Shelter this holiday season. Hands-4-Paws has set up an Angel Tree at Tuscola's Shopko. Shelter Wishlist: blankets, bath towels, bleach, laundry detergent, canned food, leashes, treats, toys and flea medication. Items can be dropped off in the boxes near the cash register starting on November 9th.

Over the course of Veterans day I listened to radio programs, read facebook posts and articles on the benefits of dogs for veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Pet Memorial Tree

We will have our Pet Memorial Tree up this December. The tree will be decorated with photo ornaments of pets who have passed away. We will have a Memorial Service to remember these pets and other pets. Anyone who lost a pet is welcome to attend the service. The service will be on Friday Jan 3rd at 7 pm. If you would like your pet to be featured on the tree, please send or bring a COPY of a photo of your pet. The photo WILL BE CUT to make the ornament. You will be able to pick up the ornament in January. There is no cost to have your pet's photo on the tree. Your pet does not have to have passed away this year to be featured on the tree. Photos can be dropped off during our normal business hours, mailed to us at 140 W. Sale, Tuscola, IL 61953 or emailed at okawvetstaff@mchsi.com
