1701 BUILDING PROJECT STARTING IN MAY!

VRBC is in the process of renovating the former Blooming Colors building, which is now called "1701" (the street address on Belt Line Road), to provide additional space for our singles, college, and student ministries.  We are hoping the space will provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere to build relationships.

Not only are we hoping to renovate the inside of the building, but we are also planning to spruce up the land behind it.  We are hoping to create a nice patio area, volleyball court, basketball court, and small playing field for soccer, football, and other sports.

One of the parts of this project in which we need help is furnishing the building. We are looking for living room furniture (couches, tables, lamps, rugs, etc.) and patio furniture to liven up the place both inside and out.

If you have any furniture to donate to this project, or If you would like to help with any other part of the renovation, we would love to talk with you about how to make that happen!  Please contact Jason Thomas at jthomas@vrbc.net or text him at 214-709-6258.

WAYS TO HELP VRBC MISSION PARTNERS RESPOND TO NEEDS IN EARTHQUAKE-RAVAGED NEPAL

Baptists in Nepal and their global missions partners joined in urging prayer and disaster relief for a nation devastated by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake that claimed more than 4,400 lives and left thousands of others injured or displaced.

For more information about the earthquake's devastation and how our Baptist mission partners are responding to these needs, read VRBC member Marv Knox's insightful article in the Baptist Standard here.

We would ask you to do two things:
  1. Pray for those who have lost family and friends, homes and livelihoods and for those who are responding. For a helpful prayer guide, click here.
  2. Consider giving to our Baptist mission partners who are responding. You can use the following links to donate much-needed funds through these groups:
CORNERSTONE SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

We have several opportunities each month to serve alongside Cornerstone Baptist Church, our sister church in South Dallas:

MISSIONARY SPOTLIGHT: THE BEJAR FAMILY

Juvenal and Katty Bejar host North American churches on mission trips to experience the transforming power of evangelism and discipleship alongside national church members. Their goals are to start new churches and to train new leaders. They are currently focusing on equipping Peruvian pastors and leaders with training for church planters, then encouraging these pastors to send members on church-planting campaigns. The Bejars also train young people for missions through a three-year training program.

The Bejars ask that we pray for their health, strength, and finances for mission trips.

At VRBC, the Bejars are partnered with the Journey ABF. To send a word of encouragement, you can email the Bejars at juvenalkatty@hotmail.com.
