NEXT STEP LUNCH

JANUARY 18

At VRBC, one of our goals is to be helpful to you as you take the next step in your journey with Jesus.  One of the ways we'd like to do that is to invite you to a "Next Step Lunch" on January 18 after the worship service. During this lunch in the student area, you'll meet our staff, get to know us as a church, and hear about lots of ways you can connect at VRBC to take steps forward with Christ. The lunch is free, and children's ministry is provided for birth through 5th grade.

To sign up, email us at  [email protected] or call the church office and speak to Teresa at 972-304-8722.  Hope to see you there!

IF: COPPELL - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

FEBRUARY 6-7, 2015

IF GOD IS REAL...
THEN WE WANT MORE THAN ANYTHING TO LIVE LIKE IT.

We are a generation of women who believes God at His Word that He called us to our places and will use us for His glory and for the good of His people. We have seen God move in incredible ways already and believe it was only the beginning. We will come together around the world on February 6-7, 2015 in a spirit of humility and unity to pray that God will work in even greater ways.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith...
Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works...
All the more as you see the Day drawing near.
                                                                                             ~Hebrews 10:22-25

POVERTY SIMULATION

MARCH 20-22

EARLY BIRD JANUARY REGISTRATION: $25, THEN $35

Scriptures are clear: God cares for the poor and marginalized and has called us to bring them the good news of Jesus Christ.

Every spring, VRBC adults and high school students participate in a weekend poverty simulation, Plunge2Poverty, with our sister church, Cornerstone Baptist Church, in South Dallas.  Poverty Simulation is designed to help participants learn about the realities of a world in need, God's heart for the poor, and how we can better live out God's call for us to connect with and serve the poor locally and around the world.

Poverty Simulation lasts from 7:00 pm Friday until 3:30 pm Sunday. Subsidized cost to cover food and supplies is only $25 for VRBC members in January, then $35 thereafter ($50 for non-members). Final registration date is March 6.

Due to the continuing cold weather, we will again meet at the Children's Play Area located inside Vista Ridge Mall.  Enter in Mall Entrance #3 and turn left.  Click here for a map of Vista Ridge Mall.

Where do YOU like to play?  Do you know of other great indoor playgrounds that we can all explore together when the temperatures are too low to play outside? Send your suggestions and questions to [email protected].

MLK DAY OF SERVICE
JANUARY 19

If you enjoyed serving at the Christmas Store or are looking to start 2015 with an opportunity to serve others, please consider giving two hours to serve on Martin Luther King "MLK" Day, Monday, January 19, to pack food for the hungry in West Africa.

Meals 4 Multitudes, Texas Baptist Disaster Recovery, and Texas Baptists are coming together to prepare and package boxed meals that will be delivered to Liberia and Sierra Leone where hunger is rampant.  No special training is needed.  All ages are welcome to participate in this meaningful service, so this could be a great project for a family, small group or ABF to do together.

More details about this service opportunity can be found by clicking here
CORNERSTONE SERVING OPPORTUNITIES
We have several opportunities each month to serve alongside Cornerstone Baptist Church, our sister church in South Dallas:

MISSIONARY SPOTLIGHT: EDITH GUZMAN

Edith Guzman provides support to e3 Partners' US Strategy Director and all of the US team leaders bringing groups to Peru. For every campaign heading to Peru, Edith handles the logistics, helps the translators, and acts as the host for each American team. She works directly with Peruvian pastors to prepare them not only to receive US teams, but to be active in church-planting on their own without any American presence. She also helps in the training of I Am Second translators and churches.

At VRBC, Edith is partnered with the Women's ABF.  To learn more about Edith and her ministry, visit the Missionaries page on the VRBC website.
