"Amazing: Grace and the Spirit"

 Romans 8:5-11

Senior Pastor - Dr. Larry Parsley

VRBC MISSIONS FAIR
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21

Come a little early to church on September 21 so that you can browse VRBC's Missions Fair, open from 8:30 - 12:15!

This year we are focusing on our VRBC-supported missionaries and our global mission partners' organizations. Learn about what they are doing around the world, and be sure to write a note of encouragement or prayer to our missionaries! Each ABF will also have a chance to hear an update from their missionary and to assemble a care package that will greatly bless that missionary and their family.

TAKE THE ROMANS 8 CHALLENGE!

(NO ICE WATER INVOLVED)

From September 7th through October 19th, Larry is preaching a series called "Amazing" (check out the trailer here) based on one of the most stunning chapters in all of Scripture - Romans 8.  To put ourselves in position for the Holy Spirit to make the most significant impact possible on us through this series, we are challenging every Valley Rancher to read a portion (or all) of Romans 8 every day during this series.

We'd love to encourage you not just to read it, but to meditate on it.  And remember - when we say "meditate," we aren't talking about sitting cross legged, burning incense and clearing your mind (although I guess you could technically sit cross legged while you read, but it sounds uncomfortable to me!).  Instead, we're talking about spending a few minutes thinking deeply about what you've read and allowing God to speak to you through it rather than just skimming the passage.

If you'd like to read electronically, you can find all sorts of translations here.  You might try a different translation each day. NIV, NLT, ESV, and The Message are some great ones to try.

We encourage you - take the Romans 8 Challenge!  (but please don't post your video on Facebook. Really.)
