DAVID WATSON
GUEST SPEAKER AT VRBC ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 3RD

David Watson serves as the Vice President of Global Church Planting with CityTeam International, San Jose, CA.  His primary responsibility is to catalyze Disciple Making Movements (aka Church Planting Movements) in difficult to reach people groups, cities and countries around the world.  God has used the leaders David trained to start over 100,000 churches in the past 15 years, and more than 4 million people have been baptized as a result of God's moving in the areas where trained local workers have devoted themselves to God's work.

David also does consulting work with churches and mission agencies involved in difficult to reach areas around the world.  He has been involved in developing strategies and training personnel for Central and South America, West Africa, East Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and North America.  David has conducted training in more than sixty countries around the world.  Church Planters and administrators from more than one hundred twenty countries have attended his training sessions.

David and his wife, Jan, are members of VRBC and we are excited to hear what God has to say to us through him on Sunday, August 3rd. Be sure and make plans to join us!

SERVE MERGE
WHERE GIFTS MEET NEEDS

God has uniquely created each one of us with GIFTS and talents designed to honor him and bless others.  The world around us is filled with NEEDS of all kinds - spiritual, financial, relational and more.  During the month of July, we are going to connect GIFTS with NEEDS.  We are asking every Valley Rancher to commit to serve inside and/or outside the church in the coming year as a grateful response to the grace we have received from Christ.  For more information, check out vrbc.net/servemerge.

SUNDAYS IN JULY - 9:00 AM ABF/SBF/CBF HOUR
"CELEBRATING COMMUNITY" - THIS SUNDAY "PERSON OF PEACE"

For the 9:00 am hour on Sundays in the month of July we will recognize and celebrate the community that God has called us to as a church family.  For those four Sundays, we will share breakfast as a church family (adults, students and children will be together) and plan to get better acquainted with, or perhaps meet people from the church that live in our neighborhood.  We will  teach from the book The Art of Neighboring by Jay Pathak and Dave Runyon and each week will build on topics from "loving God and loving others" to "finding ways to engage our neighbors."  We want to put into practice Jesus' command for us to love our neighbors providing practical ways to engage those geographically closest to us.

HELP FOR UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN
A MISSION OF TEXAS BAPTISTS AND BUCKNER

Many of you have asked how you or our church might help the unaccompanied children from Central America who will be brought to Dallas in August. VRBC has offered to assist with Texas Baptists' "For the Children" initiative, which you can read about and make a donation at this link: http://texasbaptists.org/disaster/current-projects/children/. Additionally, Buckner is able to distribute new children's shoes, socks and hygiene items for unaccompanied children in the shelters along the border. These donations may be mailed to Buckner National Missions and Humanitarian Aid, 3780 N. Bentsen Palm Dr., Mission, TX 78574. We will continue to keep you updated as serving and giving opportunities arise. Visit www.vrbc.net/migrant-children for more information.
