Another IPEX has been and gone all be it in a different format than previous years. IPEX 2014 was certainly more focused on Digital and Print Finishing .
D&K launched the Europa PB - double sided B2 laminator, Triton B1 fully automated laminator and the 165 Wide Format Cutter. Also making an appearance were the Europa EL with its in-line embossing unit and the standard Europa was demonstrated on Encore Machinery's stand.
'Robin French, MD of D & K Europe, commented; "It was noticeable that the split of visitors to our stand was very much more in favour of overseas than for previous shows, but this was within an overall decline in visitor numbers.
I think we will need more feedback before we can comment on whether the location or the show itself had greater effect on attendance. We found commuting from mid-Essex quite easy - but maybe because there was little exhibition-bound traffic towards the end of the journey. Numbers of visitors were obviously down, but we had more time to spend with our distributors, most of whom attended, and this may prove to be valuable in the medium to long term.'

D&K will be again be exhibiting at the Sign & Digital exhibition which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham - 29th, 30th April & 1st May 2014.
D & K showed the Atlas laminator + wide format cutter at IPEX in a format that fits very well with the Company's history in the business graphics market - that is, a multi-function laminator producing encapsulated prints that are side-trimmed and cut front and back to leave a border. Encapsulation has, after all, been a mainstay of the Company's business for over 25 years.
However, at Sign & Digital D & K will have Atlas laminating 1 side only and feeding into the cutter configured as an x-y trimmer - side trimming and sheeting, a activity more familiar to the sign market. Stand-alone cold lamination will also be displayed and information on the full mounting laminating and encapsulating range will be available'.
