"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track." (Proverbs 3: 5-6 "The Message")
Brothers and Sisters...
I remember when there was no...Senior High Mission Trip or Adult Mission Trip or Junior High Mission Trip or Saturday Evening Worship or Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving Service or Praise Team or Worship Booklet or ELW Hymnal or Yamaha Baby Grand Piano or Rogers Organ or Origami Dove Pentecost Mobile or Holy Communion at every Saturday Evening and Sunday 8:30 AM Services or Vacation Bible School with Morning and Evening Sessions or Grace Place or Confirmation Ministry MLK Jr. Days of Service or Refcon Worship or Lutheran World Relief Quilts or "God's Work Our Hands" Projects or PEP / Senior Adult Ministry Events or Lutheran Crossings Monthly Devotions or American Red Cross Blood Drives or Men's Fellowship Breakfast or Women's Ministry Bunco!
All of these ministries, groups, events, tools, and expressions of faith were once NEW to us! NEW is a way of life for people who rely on God for strength and guidance. That is why I am excited about our NEW weekend schedule to be unveiled on September 12 & 13. It will provide creative and faithful opportunities for all God's children, youth and adults, to grow closer to God and each other. Our NEW weekend format will look like this:
Saturday 6 PM - 7 PM + Worship with Holy Communion
Sunday 8:15 AM - 9:15 AM + Worship with Holy Communion
9:30 AM - 10:15 AM + Fellowship and Faith Formation
for All Ages
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM + Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving
(Holy Communion on 2nd & 4th weekend)
Just a few comments about this NEW approach to deepening faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and His church.
The Congregational Council of Lord of Life has responded to the request of numerous members of the congregation to find ways to bring us closer together as a church. We seek to provide more helpful opportunities for worship, faith formation, and fellowship. The staff, leaders of Lord of Life, and the council have prayerfully discerned that it is time to make a change that we trust will bring us all more in line with our vision for ministry that is identified in our most recent Mission Statement..."Lord of Life is a Welcoming Community of Forgiven People Proclaiming the Perfect Love of Jesus Christ!"
Although change is never easy, when led by the Holy Spirit it has the power to bring us closer to the heart and mind of God. I believe Lord of Life has a bright future and the future needs Lord of Life! Over the next month, you will be receiving communication by letter, email, and phone call that will keep you "in the loop" about what God is doing as we transition into a NEW schedule replete with NEW options for cultivating the faith of members and friend of Lord of Life.
Please keep this process in prayer; remembering the staff, congregational council, leaders of our church, and all of our Lord of Life family in this time of change. Please pray that God will provide us all with wisdom in the choices we are making together and the courage to live into our Christian calling.
Your brother in Christ, Pastor David Jones

Thank You from Bridge of Peace!
|
The email below was received from Pastor Giselle from Bridge of Peace. They cannot thank us enough for helping feed these children!! And thanks to the Thrivent 'Action Team' that helped financially to purchase the food!
"Wow please thank everyone. Janice made amazing baked beans and hot dogs with salad and fresh fruit salad for lunch. One child said that this is his favorite week of the summer. Justin told me he loves church because people" love him and feed him." That just made me cry... He ate three hot dogs... With beans and onions... Shawn ate three sandwiches yesterday... They are all so happy. I can never begin to say thank you enough. We have plenty of food. Thanks for coming at the beginning of the week and making such a difference!
Peace, Pastor Giselle"

Music & Worship Ministries
|

Summer is here, and it's time for special music! We'd love to have you share your gifts! Please let Rick or Sue know if you would like to sing or play something special by yourself or in a small group. We'll even help with picking out music if you'd like.
CHRISTMAS IN JULY SERVICES SATURDAY, JULY 25TH AND SUNDAY, JULY 26TH Why celebrate Christmas in July? Some people say that they enjoy the remembrance of Jesus' birth without all of the secular trappings of the December celebration. Others appreciate a second telling of the story halfway through the year. And then there are some of us who can't get enough of singing Christmas carols! Join us for these special worship services as we return to the town of Bethlehem to witness the miracle that is Jesus-Emmanuel-God with us!

Change for Change
We are currently collecting change for the Children's Fresh Air Home in Wildwood. We will be collecting through August. The change we donate will be used to purchase linens and bedding for the facility which has been under construction for a while now. They are down to the final stretch.
About the Children's Fresh Air Home:The Children's Fresh Air Home (CFAH) is a non-profit organization that provides a no-cost, enriching summer experience at the Jersey Shore in a safe, positive environment for children who may be living with family or community adversities. CFAH accomplishes this goal through positive and nurturing programming that fosters enhanced social skills, leadership abilities, and critical peer and mentorship interactions. The home, located in North Wildwood, has offered a summer respite to more than 20,000 children from the Philadelphia and New Jersey regions for more than 115 years.
Back Packs for Kids
It is time to start thinking about our backpack campaign. We will begin collecting in July backpacks and schools supplies to benefits kids from Bridge of Peace and the Christian Caring Center.
