Worship and Music

Christmas in July, Saturday, July 27th, 6:00
Our summer tradition continues as we bring out the Christmas carols and liturgy to get a second time in the year to celebrate the birth of our Savior!  So, come out of the heat and be ready to raise our hearts and voices in praise!

Summer Singers and Instrumentalists
Maybe you're off from school or work, maybe you have fewer commitments, maybe you have extra time-singers and musicians, we would love to have you share your musical gifts this summer!  What a special way to enhance our summer worship times.  All ages are welcome.  We'll provide the music or bring your own.  Please talk to or email Rick Krause  rick@lordlife.us or Sue Dreisbach  sued@lordlife.us.  We're anxious to hear from you.

MUSIC CLINIC:
St Paul's Lutheran Church in Ardmore, PA will be hosting an Augsburg Fortress Music Clinic on August 8-9. This year's presenters will include Jeff Brillhart from Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church and Zebulon Highben from Muskigun College in Ohio. Musicians from the greater Delaware Valley and beyond will gather for two days of inspiration and education. There will be an evening Hymn Festival entitled "Claimed, Gathered and Sent" on Thursday at 7pm. This festival of readings and hymns will feature Jeff Brillhart at the organ and Zebulon Highben directing.  Please see Rick Krause if you are interested in attending!

PIPE ORGAN TOUR:
Largest Pipe Organ in World   Would you be interested in touring the LARGEST pipe organ in the world?  It is located at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Rick Krause is interested in taking a group to see the instrument.  The number of visitors that can be accommodated on the tour is limited and will be allocated on a "first come, first served" basis.  The tour will last approximately two hours and involves a considerable amount of walking, climbing stairs, and maneuvering in tight spaces. Visitors are advised to wear shoes and clothes that are "comfortable".   Wheelchair visitors can be accommodated but some parts of the organ chambers and Hall are not fully accessible.  Please note that the Hall can be warm in the summer and cool in the winter if the heating/ventilation system is off.  The tour donation is $20 per person and goes directly to the Restoration Fund.  If interested, please contact Rick as soon as possible!  Possible tour dates are:
  • Tuesday, August 6th or Tuesday, August 20th

Thank You Fred & Alice!

Fred & Alice Wilfrid
Thank You to Alice and Fred Wilfrid for their 20+ years of service to Lord of Life.  Fred and Alice have generously and humbly shared their gifts in every area of ministry.  They have been and will continue to be role models for all of us in their love of God, in actively living out their faith, and in their obvious care and love for one another.  Fred needs to step away from some of the behind-the-scenes work that he has been doing;  He has been taking care of the trash, recycling, repairs, and has been known to hop on the riding lawn mower as late as last month!
We will still see them at services and activities, but may we all reach out to Alice and Fred with thankful hearts.

Help Wanted!

Help Wanted!
HELP WANTED! Summer Sunday School and Nursery Helpers Needed! If you are willing and able to cover a weekend or two during the 10:00 worship service on Sundays this summer, or would like more information on how you could help with this important aspect of our Sunday morning experience, please contact the church office or Pastor Sue as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your support!

Solar Update

GreenFaithOur partners for the solar facility, GreenFaith recently celebrated a milestone: GreenFaith has now facilitated solar arrays on over 25 faith-based sites and over 40 residences - a total of more than half a megawatt of solar capacity.  [Note: Lord of Life has generated 6,221 KWH since our installation alone with our 50,000 watt solar array.]

That's like taking over 8,000 tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere over the next 20 years.  Or taking cars off the road for more than 16 million miles.

This is saving faith groups and homeowners hundreds of thousands of dollars.

GreenFaith can now provide access to financing for solar projects:
Zero-Cost Solar Installations for New Jersey, Massachusetts Homeowners

Save Thousands on Electricity Costs

GreenFaith and AP Solar are pleased to announce our Residential Solar Campaign.  Through the Campaign, eligible New Jersey and Massachussets homeowners can have a solar array installed at no cost and enjoy overall savings on their electric costs.

Homeowners can register on-line and receive an assessment of whether their home is solar-suitable.  Register on-line now.

Interested in learning how it works?  Read 6 Steps to Solar - our description of how we enable homeowners to "go solar."  For more details, read our Frequently Asked Questions.
