If the Advent season is about preparation and expectation regarding the birth of a Savior, then the 12 days of CHRISTmas focus our attention on the type of child who will change the world and us.  Isaiah the prophet puts it this way..."For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

     However, our celebration is more than a remembrance of all the titles which the church ascribed to Jesus, the babe of Bethlehem, as it pondered his role in their lives.  Of greater importance, both then and now, is the graciously miraculous truth that "Love came down that first CHRISTmas" so that broken people could be drawn to the heart and mind of God...and be made whole again! 

     This CHRISTmas 2012, we are called to be centered in the awesome truth that God chose to become flesh and live and dwell among us; something critical 2000 years ago and just as important now.
