'Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!' Luke 15:10
altar call Croix de Bourquet
Go and preach are the final commands that Jesus gives His followers before He ascends to heaven. In the book of Acts, the apostles make a distinction when they say, "but we will give ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word." In both instances, the power of preaching the substitutionary death of Christ for the forgiveness of sins is distinguished as the Great Commission. The cry from heaven in the book of Isaiah is, "Who can We send?" Who will be faithful to Christ's word and work; to boldly go and deliver the Good News without adding to it or taking away from it?

No gimmicks

When I brought Yvonne here in the 70s, we were instructed by an experienced mission director to "pray and hear from God what He will have you do, either evangelism or social missions; but do not mix them for neither will be effective!" At the time, we did not have a house to live in, we were staying with another family. By faith, we knew that Christ called us here; by faith we stayed these 38 years, listening each day for His instructions. Then as now, God direct us through Acts 6:4 as He did the apostles, prayer and the word. Today those simple directions and our obedience to them and nothing else has blossomed into a nationwide soul winning ministry that reaches every age, every class of Haitian sinner and saint!

the old, old story

Completely non denominated, we minister in every event or church that asks Methodist, Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal. And the strategy, the message is always the same; Jesus Christ, Son of God, believe on Him, repent of your sins and you will have eternal life. This is a message that does not need the enhancement of a bowl of rice, a pair of shoes or a sponsorship program; these are the all sufficient words that bring repentant sinners into the family of God where He cares for them now and forever!

short term "missions"

In the past 20 years the substantial financial shift of mission funds to STM has damaged
evangelical efforts on foreign fields.

"Consider. The number of U.S. Christians taking part in trips of a year or less leaped from 540 in 1965 to an estimated more than 1.5 million annually, with an estimated $2 billion spent yearly, according to Dr. Robert Priest, a missiology professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, in a 2008 article in Missiology journal." Huffington Post, 02/14/14

Often sold as a "mission" trip to build and paint, these trips are more costly than flying in a  painter or contractor from out of state to work on your home! And they deny national workers the opportunity to make a living. Frankly, missionaries must host, translate and chauffeur these groups in hopes that some of them will become regular monthly supporters, the backbone of foreign missions. More often these trips are Christian vacations; yielding no supporters and draining much needed missionary energy and funds for visitors' personal enrichment.

We encourage you to carefully consider the appeal of these expensive trips for yourself or your teenagers as the summer season approaches. Pray and ask the Lord to lead you in your giving to cost effective soul winning and discipleship training. Yvonne and I are dedicated to glorifying Christ through careful evangelism; we need your help. Please write to us today or use the secure donation button above.

Thank you very much for your faithful help and sacrificial gifts that allow us to do answer the call to go and preach; your labor is seen by the Lord and is yielding eternal reward! Blessings and love for you and yours.
