Yvonne and I are accustomed to Haitian fans greeting us and asking for a picture. But never before have we been recognized by Americans! Until last week when young Americans got up from their table and said, "Frere Joel! We watch your shows in Foreign Service language training." Imagine, the pulpit that God created in our Creole Christian TV show! We are not only reaching 2 million Haitians everyday but US Department of State employees too! |

Dear friend,
President Michel Martelly celebrated two years in office last week; and all of Haiti rejoiced with him. Three days before Flag Day, the President inaugurated a park that for the past three years was a tent city! Then in front of the ruined National Palace, now cleared, thousands came to hear a speech that will go down in Haitian history as a challenge to every Haitian. A challenge not to be divided by politics or wealth; but unified to rebuild the nation. He held a 500-page document listing the accomplishments of his administration; including new roads, electricity, housing, schools, and jobs. The new face of Haiti is "Trade NOT Aid!" Cruise ship docks are underway and deals have been signed! Haiti will again be a tourist destination as it was in the 70s! |

Rebuilding
In 1991 as Haiti spun towards an open grave of trafficking, violence, kidnapping and disease, God promised us He would intervene. By 2004, these horrors climaxed when the UN declared "Haiti the most dangerous place on earth with more kidnappings than Cali Columbia." Then the 2010 earthquake drove Haiti to her knees, bringing us to the revival we are in today. So I bought the field . . .For this is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies, the God of Israel, says: 'Someday people will again own property here in this land and will buy and sell houses and vineyards and fields.'" JE32:9,15
That year 1991, Yvonne and I bought a two-acre property in the mountains. We bought in faith knowing that one day God would turn Haiti around and Haitians who were fleeing the violence would return to rebuild their nation. Today we are living in the fulfillment of that prophesy
as the purchase of land and building accelerates under a stable government working to transform the nation! |
