Email Marketing is one of the most effective ways to achieve top of mind awareness, increase customer loyalty, and grow your business.

Did you know that Gartner Research has found that $1 invested in a smart email strategy can generate as much as $43 in revenue? Impressive isn't it? With an ROI of around 4,300% (according to the Direct Marketing Association), email practically pays for itself - and saves a tree or two. It's what you use when you want to move from "conversation to business".

This session will provide a deeper look into the importance and effectiveness of why email marketing with social media engagement can drive action for your business.

It will also reveal some simple but effective best practices and considerations to make your email campaigns more effective.

Attendees of session presentation will learn:
- campaigns in general: what is a campaign, types of campaigns
-the importance of segmenting your data to support targeted messages to a targeted audience
-what to write about in your campaign,  how to consider using images, and subject line best practices
-how connected email and social media are...they have to be done together
-what types of additional tools might be useful

Join Javed and learn some great new strategies to help your email and social media efforts be more effective components of your future campaigns.

Team Building Workshop

The team at the Vaughan Chamber is still talking about how much they enjoyed the chocolate truffle-making workshop at Succulent Chocolates and Sweets. Chef Sandra made the workshop interactive, educational and so much fun! We saw our team members connecting by sharing their secret obsessions with chocolate and laughing while they made their own truffles.

We were very impressed with the dedication to quality Sandra and the team put into the chocolates. We would recommend the chocolate team-building workshop to anyone looking for a fun, creative and unique team building experience.

The Healthy Italian Quick Meal Ideas

By Fina Scroppo

Nutrition month reminds us to make healthy eating a priority. But with deadlines, meetings and commute times, it can be tough during the workday. Try a few of these strategies to help you make healthier choices; plus, discover a great meal that comes together in 30 minutes.

  • Plan ahead: Plan meals and pack lunch/snacks the night before. Small actions like taking meat out of the freezer, gathering your ingredients, writing out a shopping list can cut meal prep significantly.
  • Get the family involved: Everything from grocery shopping to cutting veggies to mixing a batter. Bonus: they'll build their self-reliant skills.
  • Choose some recipes: Buy cookbooks, ask your family for favourites, ask friends and colleagues for recipes. Check out websites like Dietitians of Canada for meal ideas and apps.
  • Precut or parboil veggies and fruit: Prepare asparagus for frittata or risotto; peppers and potatoes for a sausage bake; or parboil greens like rapini to roll into a pizza dough with basil pesto and goat's cheese.
  • Go for "healthy conveniences": If you can't find the time to chop up veggies or fruit, why not invest in a precut veggie/fruit tray to whip up soups, stews, stirfrys?
  • Stock a healthy pantry: With nutritious staples, you'll have no trouble building quick meals. Include whole grains like barley, brown rice, rolled oats; protein-rich and inexpensive legumes; nuts and seeds; low-sodium vegetables and omega-3-rich fish packed in cans.
  • Stock the fridge with some go-tos: Think precooked barley, brown rice, whole-grain pasta or quinoa to layer into soups, salads, stews and stir-frys.
