The student production is just around the corner and we want to be sure you have all the information you need to make the event stress-free and fun!

For the convenience of parents and students alike, we separate our Annual Student Production into three distinct shows, and we make each of them a reasonable length for audiences to enjoy from the opening to the closing curtain. The Noon show features our Performing Troupe students in their solos, duets and trios. It lasts about 90 minutes. The 4pm show features our youngest dancers in Tiny Tot, Discover Dance and Elementary classes, lasting about an hour. Our 7pm show features our Intermediate, Teen and Performing Troupe students and takes about 2 hours.

Please read the info below and contact us if you have any questions, and be sure to click the links as necessary to view more details. As always, we appreciate your dedication to the arts and your support of G. Scotten Talent Center. We truly enjoy working with your kids. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Best regards,

Costumes - Distributed in May

Costumes will be distributed to students during their regular class times beginning in May. Please check the front door upon drop off as we often post which costumes will be tried on and distributed that day. Parents are encouraged to assist their child with trying on their costume. If a parent can't be present that day, another parent or teacher will assist your child.

Costumes should be removed from their original packaging and hung up in a closet at home. Please do not allow children to wear or play in their costume before the big show. And be sure to confirm you have all of the costume accessories stored safely for the big day as well.

If you have any questions regarding your costume, please see Ms. Vicki at the desk or email her at [email protected].

Please click HERE to view a complete listing of required shoes and tights for each class type. These items can be purchased locally at Kinney Dancewear.

If you need help with strap alterations, etc., we'd like to recommend Donna's Alterations in downtown Fishers at 8783 E. 116th Street, 841-1358. We have used them in the past for miscellaneous costume adjustments and have been pleased with their work and prices.

The Tiny Talent Performing Troupe is a group of students selected each year for enhanced instruction and performance opportunities; members are selected by invitation. Participants will be selected from the Elementary classes. This is an entry-level performing troupe that prepares students for our pre-professional Performing Troupe. Invitations will be sent this week. Parents interested in learning more about our Tiny Talent Performing Troupe are invited to attend the Informational Meeting on May 20 at 7:30 pm.

Bring-A-Friend Week / Awards Week - June 1-4

Students are invited to bring a friend with them to class June 1-4. Friends will spend their time both observing and participating during each class. Upon arrival, please grab a name tag from the table in the front hall and apply it to your visiting guests so we can call our new friends by name. We'll be handing out goodies to our guests, too - including an invitation to the student production and schedules for our summer programs. If your child's friends are interested in dancing, this is the event for them! Fun, friendship and footwork!

Also, students will receive a participation certificate award at the end of class. Parents will be invited into the classroom at the end of class for photographs and applause for each student's hard work. We look forward to this fun, family event!

GSTC Summer Camps - June 15-19 / Grades K-12

Since our camps often fill to capacity, we're offering our current students an early-registration option. Families can now register online to hold their spot in camp this summer. There is no up-front fee for this service. Your reserved spot will be confirmed with your camp tuition payment, which will be auto-charged on May 15. This is a terrific way to get into the camp of your choice without an early financial commitment. Our Summer Camps are open to the community. Feel free to invite your friends! Click HERE to register.

BROADWAY DIVAS & DUDES - Grades K-up June 15-19, 9 a.m.-Noon
Kids will meet daily from 9 a.m.-Noon to learn exciting new dance routines from Broadway's most popular shows! Every morning, kids will enjoy three 45-minute dance classes in multiple dance disciplines including tap, jazz and lyrical dance. They will have one 15-minute snack break and 30 minutes at the end of each day to show off their newly acquired skills to other campers. There will be a performance on the last day at 11 a.m. Parents are invited to view this final performance. Students should wear dancewear or comfortable clothes, sneakers and/or dance shoes.

HIP HOP & JAZZ STARZ - Grades K & up June 15-19, 1-4 p.m.
Jazz and Hip Hop dance is fun, high energy, and upbeat! Your young dancer will begin each class with a thorough warm up taught to fast, bass-pumping music. Dancers learn to isolate their bodies with control, precision, and rhythm. Students will learn choreographed combinations, have the opportunity to choreograph their own moves and be encouraged to freestyle and just groove to the music! On the last day of camp, parents are invited to attend a 30-minute informal program at 3 p.m. as students show off their moves and perform a short routine in unison. Students should wear dancewear or comfortable clothes, sneakers and/or jazz shoes.

TUITION
$135 - One Camp
$240 - Both Camps (Pick up at Noon, Return at 1 p.m.)
