We are so fortunate to have the most talented students and the kindest families around. It is such a treat. Our jobs are so rewarding in many ways, but the interaction with our students and their families is our greatest benefit. Thank you for your commitment to dance and for choosing G. Scotten Talent Center. We are grateful you are here!

Best regards,

Parent Observation - October 27-30

GSTC has been inviting parents into the classroom since 1999, and the tradition resumes October 27-30. This is the first of three Parent Observation Weeks this term.

Observation weeks are determined at the beginning of the year and often are planned to coincide with other recognized events or holidays. Our first observation week celebrates Halloween, and students are invited to dress in their Halloween costume during classes all week. Appropriate dance shoes should be worn. (Regular dancewear may be worn by those who choose not to don a costume.)

During the observation periods, parents of enrolled students ages 18 mos. and up will be welcomed into the classroom, where they can watch, photograph and record their child's classes. We look forward to seeing you at this always-fun event!

Performing Troupe News - Guest Choreographers

The 2014-15 Performing Troupe is off to a great start! All 38 members have spent the past two months learning choreography and participating in master classes from some of the finest teachers and choreographers in the country.

Introducing our students to guest teachers and a variety of dance styles helps develop them into more versatile dancers and performers. As an added benefit, this exposure gives them a competitive edge in the industry as a young performer and helps prepare them in the event they should choose to pursue dance as a career. Students are also challenged and encouraged to break out of their comfort zone in a supportive and nurturing environment. Thank you to all of the troupe members and their families for prioritizing dance these past couple of months. Your commitment and hard work will surely shine on stage.

Our first guest was Melody Lacayanga - SYTYCD Season 1 Runner-Up. She was followed by Amy Miles - fresh off a performing tour with Ricky Martin. Joelle Martinec, the founder, director and choreographer of LA-based SoleVita Dance Company, was our most recent guest. Other local choreographers include Jeffrey Bird, Megan Campbell, Jill Heath and Vicki Gillaspy.
