We were about blown off our feet last month in Birmingham AL.

Charles' still life painting "Jug with Broken Handle" was awarded the Gold Medal at the Oil Painters of America Juried Salon Exhibition!

It was the spectacular high point to a wonderful opening reception weekend. A heartfelt thank you to awards judge Calvin Liang.

The exhibition will remain up until Nov 5 at the Beverly McNeil Gallery in Birmingham.
A complete list of the award winners is available on the OPA website.

Metro Montage 2015
First Place at Metro Montage Exhibition

This past July "Unbroken" was awarded first place at Metro Montage XV, an annual juried exhibition put on by the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art in Marietta GA.

This year's exhibition was juried by Robmat Butler, Preparator and Exhibitions Manager at the Knoxville Museum of Art. His statement about the painting was quite insightful:

"I was attracted to the brushwork and depth evident in Unbroken. The color, light and perceived depth adds to a sense of motion and action that helps to complete the composition. I enjoy how the aggressiveness of the figure draws me in and urges me to complete an open-ended narrative."
